Biography

Hello! I am an actor, singer, voice over artist and writer. I'm also a cricket lover, slave to a rescue dog called Bella, and I have William Shakespeare's signature tattood in a conveniently hideable place (true story).

I've been in the entertainment industry for seventeen years. I moved to London in May, 2019 so that I could be in the world's theatre capital. Within a year I landed my first job. I was due to play Mrs Mullin in Carousel, at Kilworth House. And then...Covid-19. Excellent.

The greatest experience I've ever had is playing Fanny Brice in Funny Girl, at the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town. That show was the love of my life.

I most recently played in Odd Man Out (Alice) at the Auto&General Theatre on the Square. I also had a delicious time playing Lucinda in Into the Woods, in early 2019. In 2018, I played Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut in the premiere of Avenue Q in South Africa.

I graduated from Wits University in 2004 with a BA in Dramatic Art.

Since then, I've played  in A Midsummer Night’s Dream; MacBeth;  Much Ado About Nothing;  The Rocky Horror Show (Janet); Sophiatown (Ruth) at the Market Theatre; 4.48 Psychosis; and in 2007 and 2008 I portrayed Claire in the international production Truth in Translation directed by Michael Lessac. In this production I worked with Hugh Masekela and toured to Sweden, Belfast, Zimbabwe, Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and Kosovo.

2010/11 and 2014 saw me performing in the award-winning Death of a Colonialist at the Market Theatre and the Baxter Theatre, respectively. I also accompanied the show to Germany. Written by Greg Latter and directed by Craig Freimond, it played to full houses.

In 2013/14 I took on Neil LaBute’s Bash. As well as acting in the play, I was one of its producers as part of The Wider Ground collective. It played at various fringe venues in Johannesburg, the National Arts Festival, and The Auto and General Theatre on the Square. For this role I was nominated for a Naledi Award in the category Best Actress in a Lead Role. In 2016 I played the Wicked Witch in Shrek at the Lyric Theatre in Gold Reef City, and Rolly in Pests, directed by Fiona Ramsay.

I've also done TV, film and radio.

In 2009 I was awarded a position at the International Shakespeare Fellowship and spent time studying Shakespeare in London at the Globe Theatre.
